How to Claim a Listing / Sale on Zillow

Overview


Zillow allows agents to claim their active or past sales so their profiles show accurate listings, sold history, and verified activity.


Claiming a listing connects it to your Zillow Agent Profile, increasing visibility and credibility with potential clients.


Step 1: Make Sure Your Zillow Profile Is Set Up

Before you claim a listing, make sure you have an active Zillow Agent Profile:

  • Visit Zillow Agent Hub

  • Sign in or create an account using your work email (ideally the same one used in your MLS).

  • Complete your profile with your photo, contact info, and MLS ID.

Zillow uses the email address and MLS Agent ID to match listings automatically to your profile.

Step 2: Search for Your Listing on Zillow

  1. Go to www.zillow.com.

  2. In the search bar, enter the property’s address.

  3. Once you’re on the property page, scroll down and look for the “Claim this listing” button (typically near the listing agent info or under “More” options).

If your listing appears under another agent or as “unclaimed,” you can proceed to claim it.

Step 3: Fill Out the Claim Form

Click “Claim this listing”, then follow the prompts:

  • Confirm you’re the listing or buyer’s agent.

  • Enter your full name, email address, phone number, and MLS ID.

  • Provide a short explanation or verification if prompted.

Zillow’s support team will review your submission and verify your connection to the listing before approving your claim.


Step 4: Add Past Sales to Your Profile

If your past sales don’t appear automatically, you can manually add them:

  1. Go to your Zillow Agent Profile.

  2. Click “Edit” → “Past Sales” → “Add Sale.”

  3. Search the property by address.

  4. Enter sale details (closing date, price, your role as buyer’s or seller’s agent).

  5. Save changes.

Your verified sales will now appear in your profile and public Zillow page.

Step 5: Connect Your MLS Agent ID

To ensure future listings and sales sync automatically:

  1. Go to your Agent Hub → Settings.

  2. Click “Manage MLS Agent ID.”

  3. Add your MLS ID (and brokerage, if required).

  4. Save.

Zillow will then automatically link any listings or closed sales under your MLS ID to your profile.


Step 6: Verify After Approval

After claiming, allow 24–48 hours for Zillow to process your request.
Once approved, the listing or sale will appear under “Your Listings” in your Zillow Agent Hub.
