This is a guide on how to perform tenant background checks & screening via the National Tenant Network (NTN).

NTN maintains the largest resident history database in the country and are able to create customized analyses of the screening results. Some main functions and features includes:

• Eviction and lease violation data (updated daily)

• Detailed credit reports

• Local, statewide & multi-state criminal background searches

• Tenant info contributed by a network of real landlords and property owners

Steps to using the NTN tenant screening system:

1. You, the agent, will send this link to the prospective tenant. With this link, the tenant will fill out the rental application form. The application costs $20.00 per applicant, payable by credit card at the end of the application process. Ask the tenant to notify you upon completion. (If your tenant needs help with the application, have them contact NTN at 800-422-8299 ext. 4)

1. After the tenant has informed you that they've completed the application, you must fill out the Tenant Credit Summary Request form (attached below) and email it to orders@ntnnj.com. The report will be processed and sent back to you.

3. OPTIONAL: If the landlord wants additional screening reports such as:

• Credit risk and lease violation info

• Multistate criminal report

• Nationwide sex offender search (included in the multistate criminal report)

• Employment / salary verification

You can fill out the Additional Report Request Form (attached below) and email it to orders@ntnnj.com. Note that these additional reports are at the landlord's expense.
