The Breakup Email

What do you usually do when a prospect simply isn’t responsive to your emails or calls? This is a tough position to be in. You’ve essentially reached out to a prospect to the point where they have all the power in the relationship…if there’s even a relationship to begin with!

The Concept Of The Breakup Real Estate Email Template:

This template is meant to be the final ‘last call’ to your unresponsive prospects. You’ve probably already called, texted, and emailed these people for a week or two. Maybe even a month. And have yet to really hear anything substantial from them.

This email typically shakes a fair number of these unresponsive leads loose because humans are loss adverse. People simply don’t like to ‘miss out’ on something.

How To Start Writing Your Breakup Emails

1) The Subject Line

The best subject lines for this email template usually hint at the prospect losing something. They look like this:

– Goodbye from Easy Agent Pro

– It’s not you. It’s me.

– Best of luck. And Goodbye.

– Should I Stay or Should I go now

2) The Body

The body of the email needs to be short and to the point. You want to stress how you’ve already been helpful several times to the prospect. And yet, they’ve never even replied. This means that you’re ready to move on and have others things to do with your time.

But you want to conclude the email with a call to action for the prospect to contact you back if they still need help.

Be sure to include plenty of contact information for the prospect to easily find.

3) Real Estate Email Templates You Can Use

Email Template #1 For Real Estate Agents:

Subject: It’s not you. It’s me.

Hi Tyler,

I was really looking forward to putting together a special marketing plan that would earn you 10% more on average when selling your house, but I haven’t heard a response to my calls and emails.

That means this will be my last email to you. If you change your mind and would like to give our unique marketing plan a try, please let me know and I’ll have your house sold in no time.

Best,

Email Template #2 For Agents:

Subject: Good Bye From Tyler

Tyler,

In reviewing some outstanding business today, I’ll be taking you out of my current follow ups at this time.

Where we initially agreed in the value of our service to sell your home for around 10% more on average, I’ve reached out to you on several occasions following our initial contact. Having not received any replies to date, I assume that we’ve either fallen off your radar or perhaps your interest has diminished to the degree that my follow up is no longer wanted.

I appreciate the opportunity to work with you and wish you the best.

I’d be happy to speak with you when you are ready to see how we can help sell your home for more in less time.

Best,

Email Template #3 For Realtors:

Subject: Should I Stay or Should I Go?

Tyler,

We are in the process of closing files for the month. Typically when I haven’t heard back from someone it means they’re either really busy or aren’t interested. If you aren’t interested, do I have your permission to close your file?

If you’re still interested, what do you recommend as a next step?

Thanks for you help,
